Breakfast: Roasted Basil Grapefruit

This morning I decided to finally try this roasted grapefruit idea Rebecca from A Daily Something featured a few years ago. It’s always looked good and today I finally got to try it! I can tell you it did not disappoint.

First you’re going to turn on the broiler, cut the grapefruit in half and place the them on a pan. Use a bit of butter on each half and I drizzled honey on one half and sprinkled sugar and chopped basil on the other half.
IMG_4768Broil them for about 5 minutes until the edges are a little brown. The grapefruit juice will look all glazed on top. yum!

They will be hot so used tongs to put the grapefruit in bowls.

While the honey half was good, the sugared basil half was amazing!

It looked pretty cool and tasted great! The basil and grapefruit mix was a big unusual but I will definitely try it again. I would highly recommend it for breakfast, snack or after dinner dessert. Let me know if you try it!
