Keep Calm

6 Mar

Everyone knows the phrase, “keep calm and carry on”. In fact it’s been parodied so much, I feel that it’s gotten a bit old. Every time I’m on Pinterest there is one more variation which either makes me chuckle or roll my eyes.

When I came across this one though, I pinned it, downloaded the pic and made it my iPhone background. Such a good reminder!

Today, I just want to encourage you. Whatever you are in the midst of you have a big and powerful God.

If you feel like you are drowning and can’t get up or see the light-
1 Corinthians 6:14 “God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by his power.”

If you are weak and feel unloved and without strength-
Psalm 136:12 “With a strong hand and an outstretched arm, for his steadfast love endures forever”

If you don’t know how things could get better or just see yourself wavering without a center –
Isaiah 26:4 “Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.”

If you feel downtrodden and depressed about your situation –
Zephaniah 3:17 “The Lord your God is in your midst,
a mighty one who will save;
he will rejoice over you with gladness;
he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing.”

God is your Savior, your El Shaddai (God Almighty), and Omnipotent (all-powerful). He saves the broken-hearted and those who are crushed in spirit. Hold on to Him because He has a plan, a purpose, and a path for your life. Don’t lose hope!

Leave some verses in the comments about the Lord’s strength! And email me joodlesdoodles@gmail.com if you need some prayer.

    Aw, Jill. I don’t know why, but I needed this post tonight, so thanks a million. 🙂 Ps. 91 (the whole durn thing) has always been an amazing encouragement to me. Actually, come to think of it, all of the Psalms. That and the verse in Romans about the depth of Christ’s love for us.

    Thanks for this, Jill. I needed it today. I’ve been hanging onto Romans 12:12 lately: “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Also Jeremiah 32:17: “Ah, Sovereign Lord, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for You.”
